The velociraptor was a fierce and highly intelligent dinosaur that lived in the region now known as Mongolia and China. It lived in the Late Cretaceous era


Their real size was about 1,5 meters to 2 meters long (5-7 feet feet) and about 0.5 meters tall (1.5 to 2 feet). Therefor it was about as big as a turkey. But in the movies they were made larger in size by the request of Steven Speilberg. So in the movies they were about 1.8 meters tall (6 feet) and 3-4 meters long (9 to 13 feet). In reality they had feathers but feathers were removed in movie for aestethic reason. They had a so called "terrible claw" on their feet that could get as large as 8 centimeters or 3 inches. Which made it a terrifying weapon for hunting alongside their sharp teeth.

They were strict carnivores making their diet consist of meat only. They were fierce hunters and one of the few dinosaurs but contradictory to the movies in real life they did most likely not hunt in packs and was not as intelligent as they were made up to be in the movies. They laid eggs like most other dinosaurs.

They appeared in all the Jurassic park movies and were one of the most famous enemies of every movie. They were one of the main antagonists in the first movie and was actually first dinosaur ever seen in the jurassic park series.
