This herbivorous giant, with its three horns and bone armor, has fascinated everyone since its fossils were discovered in the 19th century. And of course, we can't talk about Triceratops without mentioning its role in our favorite franchise: Jurassic World.

Not only Triceratops is a cool dinosaur, but this type of dinosaur is a true mystery of paleontology.

 

Triceratops lived about 68 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period, in what is now North America.
They were giant herbivores, about 9 meters long and weighing several tons. "Triceratops" is a name that comes from Greek and means "three horns." And sure enough, this dinosaur had  two on the forehead and one on the nose! This is its most notable feature. These horns were probably used to defend against predators and attract mates.
