Paleontologists

What do they do?

Paleontologists are scientists who study dinosaurs and life history through fossils. They like to understand earth and how life was back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. They study multiple different factorials from the past including plants, animals, and sea creatures. They actually play a major part in our science and studies. They are one of the more important types of scientists, by telling us how we can improve our future on earth based on what has happened in the past. Paleontology generates from the Greek words, “Ancient being study”. The paleontologists won't run out of work for a long time due to the fact that there are a ton of animals that have gone extinct, study says that is over 99 percent of what was life on earth.

Time Travelers?

Paleontologists are known as the time travelers of science due to their extensive research into the past, present, and future. They study not only life but history itself. They do a lot of research and try their best to make everything easy to understand about the past life on earth. Though they don’t only dig up the past, they also find new things that can help us in the future. Not only telling us how to take better care of our planet but also actively discovering new species, in 2024 alone they have discovered over 12,000 new animal species including reptiles and deep sea creatures. Though some new species that they discover have been extinct for many years, they help us learn more each and every day.

Paleontologists and Climate Change

Paleontologists use extensive research to help us understand climate change. They study ancient fossils and sediments to help themselves better understand climate change and the effect it has on the planet. Their research into climate change helps them teach people more about how to take care of the planet and the differences between what we can do to help the climate and what we currently do that hurts it. Climate change research also has a lot to do with their research on mass extinction and causes for that. One example of mass extinction research would be the research of the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs after the Jurassic Era.

Paleontology Career

Paleontology doesn't end at researching the dinosaurs or even being out in the field to work and find fossils, there’s so much more that paleontologists do as occupations. A lot of paleontology also includes occupations like working in museums, academy teachers, government agencies, and even working for private industries. A lot of them like to volunteer at museums and they also love to help out with civilian science projects. Due to this they could make amazing teachers, and they’re also able to teach everyone so much about the earth and life on the planet. They are the main part of the Biology branch of science. Paleontology isn’t just about life on earth as it plays a big part in the community and helping people learn more about how they can help the planet and stop animals from going extinct in the future.

Conclusion about paleobotanists

So there was a lot of knowledge put into this blog so the conclusion is that Paleontologists are great teachers, they help people learn about life on earth, they study dinosaurs and plants, and they also help discover new species of animals in the present, or past species that nobody has heard about before. There's so much that the paleontologists have to offer us and it’s an amazing career path to take if you’re interested in Biology, life on earth, dinosaurs, or even history. Paleontologists have helped us with the planet so often and they are a big part of how the earth is still around today.
