Sarah Harding is an Animal Behaviorist, she mainly focuses on the study of animal and dinosaur behavior. This is what led her to join a small team of researchers who were going on a trip to visit Isla Sorna in The Lost World: Jurassic Park. This was a great opportunity for her to study more about the behavior of dinosaurs, as she didn’t get the chance to do so on the mainland. She had extensive knowledge of not only living animals but also had some very great knowledge of dinosaurs. Her main interest, and point of research was carnivores and predators.
Dr. Sarah Harding was featured mostly in The Lost World. She was shown to be a true asset of the team she was working with. She demonstrated her knowledge of predators and their behavior. She was able to show the other researchers that the velociraptors were showing hunting patterns and she was able to differentiate the way they acted from other velociraptors. Another thing she did to prove herself as a major asset was by helping a baby stegosaurus that was previously attacked and captured by a group of poachers. She helped everyone off the island in the end by distracting the dinosaurs and knowing enough about them to avoid the ones that posed a threat to her and her group.
Sarah Harding and Ian Malcolm were in a relationship, though they had a lot of issues. Due to conflict of interest. They respected each other's line of work even if they didn’t agree with it. It had also been implied that Sarah had commitment issues due to having to travel for work consistently, but she really enjoyed getting a break from Ian, which she had joked about in the movies. They do agree on the fact that In Gen’s work on the dinosaurs is very dangerous. Sarah is one of the very limited people to believe the stories of what had happened on the island. They also believe in the chaos theory which helps strengthen their relationship and is where their careers overlap.
Sarah Harding is portrayed as overly independent and resourceful throughout the movies. Due to her travelling alone most of the time for her line of work. She is very confident and self assured, and she believes in herself and her thoughts even if others tend to disagree with her. She isn't afraid to speak her mind or voice her opinion. She also isn't afraid to take action on others. Sarah is also very capable of making her own decisions and handling things on her own. Though she may be in a relationship, that was a choice and not a necessity.
Sarah Harding is overall just a very brave and resourceful person, and a major asset to have on any team when it involves the dinosaurs or Jurassic Park. She isn't afraid to question other people or the authority if she deems it to be necessary. Another thing is her being an animal behaviorist helps with avoiding danger regarding any living animal.
