Whit Hertford

 

Whitby Flint Hertford, better known as Whit Hertford, is an American actor, film director and writer, who was born on November 2, 1978 in Provo, Utah. He married Heidi Hertford in 2002 and divorced in 2011.

Whit Hertford has participated in films such as Poltergeist II in 1986, A Nightmare on Elm Street 5 in 1989, Jurassic Park and The Lost World playing the volunteer boy in 1993 and 1997 among others.

He studied at the University of Essex East 15 as an MFA Theater Directing Scholar and graduated from the University of Utah Conservatory's Actor Training Program. Whit began his career at the age of three in Los Angeles, California.

He was the winner of the 1989 Young Artist Awards with the film A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child.

In 2009 and 2010 he played Detective Ross in the FOX comedy Raising Hope and as tyrannical rival choreographer Dakota Stanley during the first season of Glee.

In 2009 he co-founded the independent film company Sneak Attack with director Ryan Darst. His American New Wave award-winning shorts and features written by Hertford have been screened at events across the United States and Europe, including the premiere of the revenge film Wildlife at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival which was filmed in an area rural utah

In 2014 he received Best Actor awards for his work as geneticist Jesse Darden in the science fiction feature film The Perfect 46 from the Other Worlds Film Festival in Austin, Texas and the Filmquest Film Festival in Salt Lake City, Utah, and in 2015 he played Charles Manson in the 1960s thriller Prettyface.
